Description
.Absolutely! NO GREATER LOVE portrayed in an astounding transparent watercolor painting.
The suffering of Christ is so difficult to imagine. Scripture sites people horrified by his suffering. Tragically afflicted, his body no longer looked human.
Truly, I have met very few individuals who reacted with indifference to this portrayal. Many have felt overwhelmed by the sheer historical impact. Some remain speechless. Others shed a tear at the severity touching their human heart.
Every artist must select the appropriate medium to express the feeling, mood, and speech of the painting. For such a need, transparent watercolor is capable of absorbing the spirit, soul, and body of both the gospel and the viewer. Unequivocally, the tearing, the bruising, and the blood cry out for intense empathy. In the tantamount of wounded suffering, we feel the sharp pain of vivid colors striking at our own wounded heart with blunt force.
Yet, forgiveness is born in the midst of this gruesome and bloody affliction. Healing is given in the brutal stripes of suffering. Despite such horrific human violence, Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, delivers Himself to death to ensure mankind's life with God.
Staggering the imagination, this struggle takes us by surprise. Look! Dead center in the painting, is a distinct clarity, a perfectly calm detail of the eye of God. It overwhelms the conscience knowing that that eye is explicitly focused on each individual so all may understand the depth of God's loving forgiveness and the trusting humility of Christ. Surely the eternal message of God's encompassing love is truly seen through His only begotten Son who demonstrates No Greater Love.

The passage from Isaiah that I posted previously is what came to mind when I first saw this image. Once again, fantastic! Keep up the great work!

As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:[Isaiah 52:14] Vicki, this is beautiful. I love the way you handle the medium. I believe that if this were rendered in anything other than watercolor it would not have done justice to the subject...marvelous! Thank you for sharing, and allowing God to use you through the talent that He has blessed you with. Blessings!
Vicki L Thomas replied:

This is straight to the heart. The art, the title, the description...what a gift and blessing for many to see and help them find their way home..home to Jesus Christ.
Vicki L Thomas replied:
"This is straight to the heart." Unforgettable words, Diannah. Your grace is beautiful. From one artist to another, "Thank You! From one Christian to another, "May His sweetest blessings be yours...thank you so much."
