SACRIFICE - THE OFFERING, transparent watercolor painting reveals the unconditional love that "takes on the sins of the world."
"Taking on the sins of the world" is something I simply can't imagine as an individual. Thank God, Jesus of Nazareth did the very thing that I could not do, even if I had wanted too.
I often wonder if this was perhaps a bit of what Jesus might have seen in the Garden of Gethsemane. Was it a reflection that he might have pondered as he looked into the cup that God asked him to drink? Was it a vision of separation, unfathomable, despicable and unimaginable beyond belief, a vision of the second death, the lake of fire ... forever absent from the love of FatherGod? Indeed.
"Powerful and interesting work you have created." was the remark about this challenging transparent watercolor. It only took a few hours to complete in comparison to my pastel paintings. Nevertheless, as an expressionist and a prophetic artist, it's not the time or talent involved, but the emotion it evokes to touch the greatness of one's soul, the determining evidence of both passion and life.
