ETERNAL, a wonderous pastel painting drawing your gaze into His eyes to contemplate eternity.
I just can't imagine anything being without Him. He, Himself, is absolutely timeless. Sometimes, I get caught in the moment and suddenly I am right there with him. Where that is, I'm at a loss of how to explain exactly. But it couldn't be more breathtaking.
I must sound like a broken puzzle must look. You may wonder how it all fits together ... that is the complexity of being an artist, a prophetic and expressionist at that! True, I simply don't have all the answers, but expressing the One who does, is what makes Christ-centered art so amazing to me, and I trust, interesting to the viewer.
Pastels have the ability to capture the purest essence of a subject through the interaction of each color. Texture and mood are created by the stroke while the activity of the pastel creates the vast combinations of color elements. Depending upon the materials used, a variety of artful conditions can provoke emotions, imaginations, and associations necessary to further captivate the viewer into an engaging conversation with the painting.
