COMPASSIONATE is a pastel painting offering the same intimate compassion Jesus felt for the multitudes and the individual.
Christ can be touched with the feelings of our infirmities. He ever lives to make intercession for us. We are called to be his friend, even a child of God like himself. How awesome that mankind has such a compassionate, heavenly Father who loves his children so determinately.
As an expressionist prophetic artist, I am more concerned that the emotion of soul and spirit is expressed and recognized, than the actual adherence to rules of design or technical art skills. This is not to dismiss such elements; but rather to focus on the intimacy of spirit to spirit, soul to soul contact with the viewer.
Christ-centered art can offer substance, by being a shoulder to cry on or a friend who shares laughter, or simply listens in moments of difficulty. Life certainly has its ups and downs. It is even better if two walk together. Honestly, most would agree I think. A visual reality is not always imaginary but necessary, nonetheless.
